Artificial Intelligence Policy

By submitting, you warrant that 100% of the work submitted is your original creation.

Core Principle

All submitted works must be entirely original creations of the human author. The creative voice, narrative arc, and all words and phrases must be written solely by the human writer submitting the work.

How You Can Use AI Tools

  • Transcription: Converting spoken speech or voice notes into raw text using speech-to-text tools.
  • Spell- and Grammar-Checking: Using standard spell-checkers and grammar-checking utilities.
  • Critical Feedback and Workshop Simulation: Using AI as a virtual critique partner or developmental editor to receive macro-level analytical feedback, identify thematic patterns, or discuss high-level conceptual aspects—provided that at no point in the interaction does the AI feed you literal words or phrases to use.

What You Cannot Use AI Tools For

  • Generating, drafting, or expanding prose, poetry, or dialogue.
  • Creating AI-generated images.
  • Machine copy-editing.
  • Having the AI propose or suggest any actual wording, phrasing, or stylistic rewrites of creative content (regardless of whether the author manually reviews or cherry-picks the output).
  • Performing structural rewording or line-level text generation of the manuscript.

Disclosure and Warranty

You must disclose the use of any permitted transcription or critique tools within the submission metadata.

Relying on AI to propose or generate creative wording is a breach of the submission warranty and will result in rejection or rescission of acceptance if not remedied.
